In 2009 I read very lots about the recent techniques in photography and videography, including the lights. My favourite sites are : www.slashcam.de and www.dsrl-forum.de I know enough, what is up now to shoot content with a high resolution. I bought at least a dozen digital cameras the last 12 months and a camcorder, but I gave 'em all back to the shops for the luck and got my bucks back. I just tested 'em, but they weren`t good enough. Besides from this I tested some camcorders and some lights. I just need to buy such equipment and some more lights. No topic. To get the better result with cam, you got to get a DSLR, in a trusted brand ( Nikon and Canon are the most trusted, but recently try a FujiFilm S3, and I was really surprised )...You don`t have to buy "dozen of bodies " but only two ...with collections of lenses ( 17-80 mm, 50 mm, 35 mm, etc in the best operture you can ...you can find all reviews from tis here http://dpreview.com But remember, that`s not the cam who does the photography, it's the photographer AND the attitude of the model ... I recently made a whole series of pics for an expo with a simple Nikon FE, and That was really great result ... I usually work with Nikon ( D1X ( because of 10 Mp extrapolation on RAW files ) D2h, D2x and D3Xs ) . The light is the oxygen of the photograph, you have to catch it to do the best shots ! More natural it is, the best result you got ... Finally, remember ONE thing in this....try...try as much as possible i every model you have, on landscapes, animals, insects ....experience is the key Nick ( Somona's Hubby ) |

This is exactly, what I found out, what You write Nick !
Couldn`t have written it better. I also looked often into www.imaging-resource.com Also with the lenses You'r absolute right. I shoot some hundred test-pix with the dozen cams in 2009. And over a dozen test-vids with different cameras and camcorders in 2009. Did You use the FujiFilm S3 and the Nikon D1, D2, D3, D3X's with the kit-lenses/zooms ? Or with some 50 mm, 35 mm ? Would be very nice to find a dsrl with a good kit-lens, but this is obviously probable only a nice dream, unfortunate.... In my hometown are a Canon 1000 D and a Sony alpha with around 14 MPix rather cheap at the moment. I have them in my mind, but did not dare to buy one of 'em up to now. I shoot with a canon 5D. This camera, without a doubt, is the most fun piece of equipment I have ever owned, and I have had way more than most. I shoot with a 24 to 70 Canon L series and a 70 to 200 IS L series as well. And I have some kinda Canon wide angle that I rarely use. My videos I shoot with a Z1U Sony which produces nice 1920 X 1080i images. But I might just try and start using the video function of the 5d with a wireless mic and see if I can get by without a video camera. Not likely, but I will explore the thought.

Non expensive body, so I don't have to take care of it ( it wa not the case of the D3Xs ( around 7000 $ Nu body ) or D2X ) I could put any G series lenses which get a great result in exterior shootings, and which are really non expensive ( 28-80 - 70-300 etc ...) It is a real light body, and after 2 hours , it`s really an advantage !... Professionnal bodies have professionnal specifications ....dorect access on ISO, shutter speed, etc...in mode M, A, P etc....if you don't have to shoot in specific mode , you can use ( I recommand You ..) to chose a middle level body, which can provide you preselected modes To give you exemples ... This have been made with a D2X , 18-70 mm at 1200 Iso with quite no light (5.30 Am ) You got to use a professionnal body here to direct access on Iso mode and Aperture Priority . This with a D1X , 28-80 mm at 200 Iso and P mode ... And this with a D50 . 35 mm lense at 800 iso A mode ( 3 candles lights so not much light ...) Both of the results are different, and in te one and the third, the conditions were quite the same ....so it`s up to you know Nick |

I don't travel to CZ.. instead models from CZ come to visit my country.. I also shoot with Dutch models.. At the moment I'm only shooting for my own site which is always in that orange room. I might go to CZ in the future.. Shooting content is not my primary bizz.. I also don't shoot for other companies. Quote:
